About Us

Founded in the heart of San Francisco in 2009 (Bean Bag Café on Divisadero Street), The Bees Awards is the first international social media competition honoring communication and marketing professionals. Since the early beginning, The Bees Awards gathered the world's interest for innovation & inspiration in social media marketing practices. The original goal remains still today: helping to define the best practices and the best professionals.

In its first edition, the event took place at The Legion of Honor in San Francisco. Sixteen specialized categories were defined and nineteen experts from around the world accepted the invitation. The event was an immediate success: Professionals from twenty-three countries participated. Seventy-four percent of entries came from large and well-known brands.

In the second edition, The Bees Awards enlarged their opening to twenty-three categories and immediately received more entries. Thirty-three countries participated in the competition and maintained the quality of participation. Seventy-six entries came from large brands.

In the third edition, The Bees Awards enlarged their opening to twenty-six categories and immediately received more entries. Forty countries participated in the competition and maintained the quality of participation.

52 countries have participated today. Hundreds of entries have been received each year. In 2013, social media marketing is gaining maturity in the process. The Bees Awards are calling for more participation and invite you to submit your best work to be celebrated among the industry's best.

The Bees Team now operates under the company of The Bees Awards Inc., independent from any publication, association, agency or media company. Our organization shares the passion for excellence and thrives to bring a sustainable prosperity to our young industry.
